Londonderry Family Practice Center Welcomes Back Family Practitioner Daniel Waszkowski, MD

Londonderry Family Practice Center announced that Daniel Waszkowski, MD is joining their practice and will begin seeing patients March 1st. He is board certified in Family Practice and welcomes new and former patients for annual medical exams, routine and preventive care visits, immunizations, and the evaluation and treatment of acute health issues.

He previously practiced at Apple Tree Family Physicians and was Vice President and Medical Director of the Elliot Physician Network. Prior to coming to New Hampshire in 1998, he was a family practice physician with the Family Practice Medical Group of Oakland in Oakland, CA. He also practiced at the Women’s Community Medical Clinic in San Jose, CA, Hayward Family Care in Hayward, CA and the Columbia San Jose Medical Center, in San Jose, CA.

Dr. Waszkowski earned his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, IN and completed his family practice residency at the San Jose Medical Center, San Jose, CA. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the New Hampshire Medical Societies, and the American Medical Association.

Derry Medical Center Presents "The Biggest Loser" - A Teen Weight Loss Program That Emphasizes Healthy Nutrition Choices

Calling all teenagers: Have you thought about shedding those extra pounds before summer or considered initiating a healthy eating and nutrition lifestyle? If yes, then you’re encouraged to enroll in “The Biggest Loser for Teens,” a weight loss program designed specifically for teenagers 14 to 18 years old. This eight-week program designed by Sue Olson, a registered dietitian at Derry Medical Center, begins Wednesday, May 2 and continues every Wednesday through June 20 from 3:45 pm to 5:00 pm at Derry Medical Center.

The program's goal is to empower teens by teaching them how to make healthy food choices and maintain healthy eating habits. As part of the program, teens will receive meal and exercise plans designed by a registered dietitian. In addition, they will learn about how to make better food choices when grocery shopping, cooking, eating out and selecting foods from cafeteria menus. The program’s content will include movies and guest speakers. There will be a cash prize for the “biggest loser.”

The cost for this program is $50 per person or $80 for 2 teens. Those who bring a friend will receive a $10 discount. For more information about “The Biggest Loser” call Sue Olson, RD, at 537-1393. This program is available and open to all teens.

Family Practitioner, Elisa Mercuro, DO, Joins Derry Medical Center - Has Special Interest in Working with Teens and Young Adults

Elisa Mercuro, DO, board certified in family medicine, recently joined the medical staff at Derry Medical Center. She enjoys caring for and working with all family members, and has a special interest in working with teens and young adults.

A former practitioner with Parkland Family Practice, Dr. Mercuro is a familiar face to many families in the greater Derry community. Dr. Mercuro performs routine annual medical exams, sports physicals and vaccinations. She places great emphasis on preventative healthcare and maintaining an open dialogue with her patients. She is available to speak with patients about their health issues and provide guidance on how to achieve their personal health goals.

Dr. Mercuro received her medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her training at NH Dartmouth Family Practice Residency in Concord, N.H. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Osteopathic Association. An advocate for young adults, Dr. Mercuro is a board member with the Community Alliance for Teen Safety – a community-based organization that promotes awareness about both high-risk behaviors and safe habits among teenagers and their parents.
